Former President Mohamed Waheed: Distinguished Fellow at Lee Kwan Yew School

Former President Mohamed Waheed was appointed Distinguished Fellow at the Lee Kwan Yew School of Public Policy, National University of Singapore in 2014.

He gave special lectures on climate change and security, state and markets, education, and leadership development. During his assignment he worked closely with the Founding Dean of LKYSPP, distinguished Asian scholar and statesman Kishore Mahboobani.

He co-taught courses on comparative and international education, education policy, and early childhood. Together with Professor Gopinathan, he taught courses on Education Policy in Singapore. His personal experience as President, along with its many challenges and opportunities, were topics of discussion and of great interest to students in Leadership classes run by Professor Johnathan Marshal. In addition to teaching graduate courses, he gave public lectures on Politics in South Asian countries.

He also co-authored a book chapter on disaster preparedness and the Asian tsunami. His association with the Lee Kwan Yew School of Public Policy, at the National University of Singapore, came to an end with the onset of COVID-19.
